Trinity Elementary has an in-house broadcast studio to produce and air morning announcements to a dedicated television channel in classrooms around the school. The school was looking to update its studio set-up, plus lighting and camera equipment to move away from pre-recorded programming toward more sophisticated live TV production capabilities. The first stage of the studio update was to procure and install new, improved lighting.

What will the planned studio updates entail and how will these help the students at Trinity Elementary?
The live TV production upgrades will complete in stages. The first round involves new lighting that will enable live interviews during morning announcements, live panel discussions and green screen capabilities. The new lighting set-up will also help facilitate future projects, like a Blackmagic work flow for live broadcasts of school auditorium productions and live streaming of programming on outlets such as YouTube. The updates will allow a new curriculum about the different elements of live television production.
This curriculum will include classes such as editing, recording, and audio. Once implemented, this will be the only school district in New York to offer these courses to students of this age.
What was the discovery process like when choosing a vendor and how was Adorama Business Solutions ultimately selected as partner in this project?
With the need for the studio updates identified by the school, Moises Freja, Instructional Technology Facilitator at Trinity Elementary met with one of Adorama Business Solutions Education Account Managers at the NAB Show in Las Vegas. What happened during the on-site consultation?
During the site visit the Adorama team assessed the current set up and made recommendations for additional improvements to the studio set up. They then consulted with Moises and the Adorama Business Solutions Account Manager to select the right products, without brand bias and based on the scope and budget of the project.
