The Sony RX100 Mk IV Puts 4K In Your Pocket

It’s been nearly a year since Sony announced the RX100III- their third iteration of the camera that has consistently pushed the limits of what’s possible in the point-and-shoot market segment. With the announcement of the Sony RX100 IV, Sony looks to push the envelope even further by packing 1/32000 sec shutter and native 4K video capture.

WHAT? That’s right,there’s no typo in that last sentence. The Sony RX100IVis more than an incremental step-up from the previous model and definitely looking to push the limits of what can be achieved in a point-and-shoot camera. The Sony RX100 was originally announced nearly three years ago today and continues to offer some of the best in-class images. Sony truly broke the mold with the introduction of their backside illuminated 1-inch type EXMOR CMOS sensor. The addition of 4K video capture to the RX100 IV make this a truly pocketable 4K camera with a large sensor and advanced camera controls. The RX100 isn’t just adding higher resolution either, the RX100 IV hasthe ability to record super slow-motion video at up to 40x slower than the standard rate, allowing users to capture and replay fleeting moments of action with incredible detail, resolution and clarity. The RX100IV allows you to choose from 280fps up to 960fps in super slow-motion.
