Quick, easy process:

In under 30 seconds, the Matterport Pro2 can scan a room and upload the data directly to a smartphone or tablet. The Pro2 is a professional camera, but thanks to its ease-of-use, the entire process is automated from end-to-end. Users of all skill levels only need to press a button, and the camera takes care of the rest. And the accompanying iPad Capture App makes the process super simple.

3D tours and 2D photographs:

With one scan, users are able to generate 4K 2D photography, 3D virtual tours, and interactive floor plans. The Pro2 automatically adjusts the white balance and captures images in 134 megapixels for a detailed, balanced scan. The Pro2 boasts 99% accuracy in its representations of 3D spaces and works up to 15 feet at a time. The 3D camera is able to scan for eight hours on one charge, and only takes 4.5 hours to fully charge.

Improving the model:

Users can enhance their 3D scans with “mattertags”, GPS, floor plans, and measurements. “Mattertags” are annotations and media that are inserted at specific points throughout a property to add more information. Additionally, the GPS function allows for including specific locations in the scan. Measurements of walls, rooms, doors, etc., can be changed in the 3D virtual tour and an optional schematic floor plan gives the space an accurate look.

The data from the scan is stored, so users are able to revisit their shoot and pull images from the scan if they are in need of more material.  The 3D files are stored as OBJ or XYZ files and can be pulled up in software like Autodesk, Revit, and Xactimate.
