Tamron has just announced the development of two innovative and fast lenses, to launch later this fall. The 28-75mm f/2.8 G2 and the 35-150mm f/2-2.8 Di III VXD are designed for Sony E-mount full-frame mirrorless cameras and are perfect everyday lenses. Both lenses feature zoom focal lengths, wide apertures, Tamron Lens Utility software, Tamron’s Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive (VXD), and more.
Tamron 35-150mm f/2-2.8 Di III VXD features:
- First zoom lens for full-frame mirrorless cameras with a wide f/2 aperture
- 35-150mm focal length
- VXD technology for fast autofocus and precision
- Tamron Lens Utility functionality
- Sony E-mount
The Tamron 35-150mm f/2-2.8 Di III VXD is the first zoom lens for full-frame mirrorless cameras that offers a fast and wide f/2 aperture. The aperture stays within f/2-2.8 throughout the wide, standard, medium telephoto, and telephoto lengths.
The wide aperture combined with the ranging focal length gives creators flexibility when capturing different styles and traveling. Photographers can easily bounce between wide-angle street photography and telephoto night sky photography with one lens. Creators can even capture medium-telephoto portraits with a soft bokeh.
For high precision and quick autofocus, the new lens uses Tamron’s VXD mechanism. The speedy AF comes in handy when photographing wildlife, sports, or any quick action shots.
Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 Di III VXD G2 features:
- Successor to the 28-75mm f/2.8 III RXD
- VXD mechanics
- Tamron Lens Utility
- 7.1” minimum object distance
- 1:2.7 maximum magnification ratio
- Sony E-mount
The Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 Di III VXD G2 will become your new everyday lens thanks to its compact size and enhanced image quality. The 28-75mm focal length creates versatility while shooting, and the wide f/2.8 aperture gives choices when deciding a depth of field.
The 28-75mm f/2.8 has a minimum object distance of 7.1 inches and a 1:2.7 maximum magnification ratio. It’s not quite macro settings, but the MOD and magnification are helpful when capturing close-ups, still life scenes, or even product photography.
Like the 35-150mm f/2-2.8, the 28-75mm f/2.8 uses Tamron’s Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive for super fast and accurate autofocus. Both lenses also house the Tamron Lens Utility software. With this function, users can connect their lenses to their computers to customize the lenses Focus Set button, Focus Ring settings, and update the lenses firmware.
