Sigma 16mm F/1.4 Contemporary Lens for Nikon Z

The new Sigma 16mm F/1.4 lens is a landscape and nightscape photographer’s dream. The wide 16mm focal length would also bode well for outdoor videographers. This is one of the best focal lengths for wide angle landscape photography. You’ll be able to capture a whole lot of landscape in front of you without the traditional distortions seen at wider angles.

For astrophotography and low light situations, combining the 16mm focal length and f/1.4 aperture ensures that you can not only capture more light by extending the shutter speed, but also by opening up the aperture.

When pairing this lens with a Nikon Z camera, you really can’t go wrong with the Nikon Z9, which is Nikon’s flagship mirrorless camera. Combining the already excellent low light performance of the Z9 with the Sigma 16mm F/1.4 will produce results that are sure to amaze.

The 16mm comes in at 420g (or 14.8oz) and takes a 67mm filter. The minimum focusing distance is 25cm (or 9.8 inches), and the lens has 16 elements in 13 groups with 9 rounded diaphragm blades.

Of course, you’ll be able to capture beautiful bokeh at the maximum aperture as well.

For cityscape and landscape photographers, 30mm is a great mid-range focal length for capturing many scenes, and night photography is even possible at 30mm and f/1.4. This lens would also be perfect for content creators, as 30mm feels just right for shooting videos.

For content creators specifically, this lens pairs well with the Nikon Z50, which offers a flip out screen for vlogging. For other kinds of photographers, this lens is perfect for the Nikon Z6II, which offers excellent all around performance for a variety of different photography applications.

The Sigma 30mm F/1.4 weighs 285g (or 10.1oz) and uses a 52mm filter. The minimum focusing distance is 30cm (or 11.8 inches), and the lens is made up of 9 elements in 7 groups with 9 rounded diaphragm blades.
