Compact-sized system with professional sound quality

The new system simplifies the sound recording process without compromising audio quality. Creators can pull the transmitter and receiver right out-of-the-box and get working — just power them on. The system uses a 2.4GHz spectrum for pairing, which ensures simple pairing and blocks out any interference.

Unlike UHF frequencies, 2.4GHz system doesn’t pick up signals or static from other sources that can ruin an audio recording. Other wireless systems have channels to scroll through, while the 2.4GHz system automatically finds the least occupied frequencies to block out static noise and dropouts. The Blink 500 has an extensive signal range of 98 feet (30 meters) with obstacles and a full 164 feet (50 meters) in open spaces, allowing creators to record narratives or moving shots.

The transmitter has a built-in microphone for convenience in a more controlled, quiet environment and an input for an external lavalier microphone when specific angle and placement are priority, which can be achieved with the included SR-M1 clip-on lavalier microphone. Using the built-in microphone, shooters can clip the transmitter straight on the subject’s coat, lapel, etc., taking out the hassle of fidgeting with microphone clips and hiding wires. Although quick and easy to setup, the transmitter is noticeable when using the built-in microphone. If you’re accustomed to broadcast loops, users can opt for the included external lavalier microphone for a traditional rig.

Another notable product is the dual-channel receiver. A single receiver is capable of recording two channels of audio. Instead of buying two microphone systems, shooters can record two audio sources, saving time and money.

Compatibility and Kits:

The entire system has a wide range of compatibility due to the assorted kits available. Kit B1 comes with one transmitter and is compatible with any DSLR and mirrorless camera. B2 has two transmitters for two audio channels and also works with DSLR and mirrorless cameras. For these two kits, the nimble receiver can be mounted right on the shoe mount.

Kits B3, B4, B5, and B6 come with the new digital receiver designed for smartphones, laptops, and tablets, and has specifically been constructed to be slim, and not to interfere if shooters are using a gimbal. The B3 and B4 use the Apple Mfi Certified Lightning connector that’s compatible with iPhones and iPads. Meanwhile, the B5 and B6 use the traditional USB-C input for USB-C smartphones, tablets, and laptops. To note: the B4 and B6 come with two transmitters.

The system kits are now available for preorder. The Saramonic Blink 500 series includes:
