Continuing our coverage from the Jacob Javits Convention Center, we had a chance to check out the latest offerings on display at Photo Plus Expo 2015. Expo attendees can find Epson at booth #707 and can expect to find a great gallery of professional images printed on Epson printers and professional line of Signature Papers; each working together to deliver truly stunning results and give enthusiasts inspiration and the tools to print gallery quality photos at home.

Epson SureColor P400

The SureColor family of printers is built for the advanced amateur photographers, hobbyists, and other like-minded creatives who demand gallery-like finishes to display their best work all in a convenient desktop form-factor. The recently announced SureColor P400 wide-format printer will meet and exceed the demands of photographers looking for a home printing solution with its 8-ink cartridge UltraChrome HG2 pigment ink – delivering some of the most vivid and rich colors at an amazing price point (more on this later).

The SureColor P400 offers some of the most advanced tools for consumer inkjet photo printers complete with super flexible media handling. The P400 can print up to 13-inch wide print-cut sheets or rolls in a variety of media including edge-to-edge 13” wide borderless photographic and fine art papers, canvas, 1.3mm thick board, and inkjet-printable CD/DVD media with professional grade results. The P400 is WiFi ready for use with your home network or as an ad-hoc hotspot for all your WiFi compliant devices (yes, including your smartphone).

The SureColor P400’s 8-channel print head technology helps deliver rich vibrant colors; auto-select Black inks to achieve optimal black density whether you’re using matte, fine art, or glossy photo paper thanks to two dedicated black (glossy and matte black) ink channels. For color prints, the P400 features dedicated Red and Orange ink cartridges help deliver deep, rich reds and natural-looking skin tones. Addressing the cost concerns of customers, Epson has not only made the 8 cartridges with an extra large 14ml capacity but has reduced the price of the pigment-based inks to under $150 for the complete set.

Also in keeping up with their customers’ demands, Epson knows you’re shooting more and more smartphones. The P400 includes an Adobe RBG mode specifically designed for smartphone photos to deliver crisp and vibrant prints that mimic what you see on your screen. One of the more exciting features include special print handling of 8.3” wide roll paper; an ideal size for printing panoramas captured on smaller sensor cameras and smartphones – all without borders. If you’ve grown tired of sharing your snaps  on virtual walls and want to add some life to your away-from-the-keyboard wall, the Epson SureColor P400 delivers in a very consumer-friendly model.

While you’re visiting the Epson Booth be sure to check out their gallery as well; featuring the work of some of photography’s biggest names and printed on Epson’s Signature Fine Art papers in a variety of finishes (we love the matte finish). Get some inspiration and be sure to let them know that your friends at Adorama sent you.

The Epson SureColor P400 is currently available for pre-order and has an MSRP of $599.
