Weekend warriors and adventurers rejoice. Panasonic announced today a successor to their highly-rated higher-end tough camera. This new camera, the Panasonic Lumix TS7 Waterproof Tough Camera, is sure to be a favorite because of its impressive set of specs. Retailing for in three colors — blue, black, and orange — it is a serious competitor at its price point.

The TS7 distinguishes itself by taking both photography and adventure seriously. First, the outdoorsy highlights that set it aside from other cameras in its class:
- Waterproof: Panasonic increased the waterproof rating to 102 feet (31 meters) and says that scuba divers can use it without a case.
- Dust-proof: Gaskets keep dust and dirt out.
- Drops and falls: The camera is rated to withstand drops from 6.6 feet (2 meters).
- Pressure: It’s resistant to 220lbf (100kgf), so don’t worry about packing it in your luggage.
- Temperature: Go ahead — ski and hike in the cold — it can handle temperatures to 14 degrees Fahrenheit (-10 Celsius).
- Navigation: Yes, navigation. the TS7 includes a compass and an altimeter!
- Sunlight friendly: Panasonic’s Live View Finder (LVF) allows the outdoor photographer to compose the shot in bright sunlight.
- Action friendly: To protect against camera jitter when taking photos with one hand or while being pushed by water currents, Panasonic included Power O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer).
- LED torch light: Night photos and videos benefit from a continuous-on LED light.


On the photography side of things the camera represents well, too. Highlights include:
