Today Nikon announced the release of the much-anticipated D3400 DX-Format DSLR, available at Adorama with the AF-P DX NIKKOR 18-55MM F/3.5-5.6G VR lens  for $646.95.  The D3400 is an improvement on its predecessor, the D3300 and features a new 24.2MP sensor, much longer battery life, Snapbridge connectivity and incredible low-light performance with a native ISO range of 100-25,600. In addition to the D3400, Nikon also introduced 4 new Nikkor lenses, all new additions to their “P-series,” two of which feature Vibration Reduction (VR) features.

The D3400 DSLR has an impressive battery life rated at 1200 shots per charge.

The new compact D3400 DSLR is meant to be easily taken anywhere and Nikon is putting a lot of emphasis on the camera’s ability to work seamlessly with your smartphone, using Nikon’s exclusive Snapbridge to make photo sharing easy. The D3400 also boasts a battery rated to 1200 shots per charge, making it a huge step-up from the previous D3300 which is rated at 700 shots per charge.

An acclaimed”Guide Mode” will allow photographers to quickly learn to use all of the camera’s best features. With all the improved features, the D3400  is not only a high-quality camera for stunning photos, but an extremely convenient piece of gear for those wanting to share photos instantly.

The D3400 is compact, lightweight and incredibly easy to use.

If smartphone photographers need any more convincing to purchase their first DSLR, they should simply consider the D3400’s low-light capabilities, as its high native ISO will be an extreme improvement over anything you can get with even the most expensive smartphones on the market now. The D3400 has a native ISO of 25,600,  so it will allow photographers to shoot in extremely low light without a problem.

In addtion to the D3400, Nikon has introduced four new lenses to add to their P-Series. The lenses use a pulse motor (utilizing stepping motors) for ultra-fast, near-silent autofocus.

The 18-55mm lens is an extremely versatile lens that is an easy go-everywhere option. Its 3.1x zoom range covers the highly versatile 18–55mm focal length range, great for everything from wide group shots and landscapes to family sports and portraits, even in dim lighting. If you are looking for a little more shooting range for faraway subjects, the 70-300 mm lens is a powerful yet lightweight super-telephoto zoom lens optimized for compact DX-format DSLRs.

For a great deal, you can buy the D3400 with both the AF-P DX NIKKOR 18-55MM F/3.5-5.6G VR  and the  AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300MM F/4.5-6.3G ED for $996.95.
