Sony has just introduced three new camcorder options that give users the ability to use the power of 4K and HDR in their broadcasting. Announced at the National Association of Broadcasters Show (NAB) in Las Vegas, the FS5 II, XDCAM PXW-Z280, and PXW-Z190 are the latest additions to join the Sony line.

Sony’s new FS5 II camcorder features RAW 4K capabilities through a sustainable external recorder, as well as impressive Instant HDR Workflow that lets you output HDR, along with post-production details — saving you serious time when editing.
With the ability to shoot 60 fps 4K recording (and 120 fps in four-second sections and continuous 240 fps in eight-second sections), it can also record 8-bit 4K at 30 fps, using a 4K Super 35 Exmor CMOS sensor.
Sony also boasts the camera’s newly-tuned picture tone and the E-mount flexibility for Alpha mount systems. The camcorder features high frame rates and a RAW output that won’t require a firmware upgrade.
The camera body features a lightweight and compact design and a multi-interface shoe, along with dual media slots for added options.
The camera will be available at the beginning of June 2018.

Sony also announced two new smaller camcorders to round out their line, including the PXW-Z280, which features 4K 60p recording with 3-chip 4K 1/2-type Exmor R CMOS sensors (the world’s first, Sony says) that also allows for simultaneous 4K and HD recording.
The Z280 also records 4:2:2 10-bit at 4K and has built-in 17x optical zoom lens, as well as four-channel audio recording.
The Z190, meanwhile, records 4:2:2 10-bit at HD resolution, with a built-in 25x optical zoom lens (and 50x digital zoom in HD), in addition to advanced face detection autofocus (AF),
The PXW-Z280 will be available end of June 2018, while the PXW-Z190 will be available beginning of September 2018.
