The new Leica SL2 blends a new 47-megapixel CMOS sensor with built-in body image stabilization to deliver exceptional photo and 4K video. Exceptional Shooting Performance:

The Leica SL2 full-frame mirrorless camera has a 47 megapixel CMOS sensor for stunning image detail. A sensor that hefty offers an ISO range that spans from 50 to 50,000 to give users clarity and reduced noise in low-light settings. To top it off, the advanced sensor is paired with body image stabilization to produce the sharpest photos and videos possible, even with a slower shutter speed. And to take the stress out of action shots, the autofocus on the new Leica tracks both faces and bodies with fine-tunable settings.

The Leica SL2 is a useful companion for videographers with its 4K/60fps and 5K/30fps cropped video shooting capabilities. To further cater to cinematographers’ needs, Leica included Cine Mode workflow, which changes shutter speed to shutter angle and ISO to ASA. The SL2 is designed with a 3.5mm microphone jack to properly capture audio when shooting footage.

The SL2 equips users with different shooting modes to fit their creative needs. The Maestro III Processor allows the capture of burst shots up to 20fps electronically and 10fps mechanically, all in 4K. Adjusting the “Long Exposure Noise Reduction” setting shortens the time needed for a well-executed long exposure shot. The Multishot function (which will come via a 2020 firmware upgrade) uses image stabilization to stitch photos together into a 187-Megapixel masterpiece.

Signature Body Style with Improvements:

As always, the body of the Leica is slim, minimalistic, and easy to work with. The ergonomic frame has a weather rating of IP54 and is fully sealed to handle the elements. The body features a three-button layout, similar to other Leicas, to keep shooting quick and convenient. The electronic-viewfinder is new and improved with 5.76 million dots, so what you see is what you shoot, and a 3.2-inch LCD screen offers a comprehensive graphical interface and content previews. The upgraded Leica FOTOS 2.0 application is being released alongside the new SL2 so users can take advantage of the sweeping application.

In terms of lenses, the Leica SL2 is compatible with 8 SL-lenses, 7 TL-lenses, 16 S-lenses, 51 R-lenses, all cine lenses, and more than 70 M-lenses with the mount. Finding the right lens for the shoot will be no problem.

Alongside the camera, a new Leica Multi Function Handgrip () has also been announced and includes a vertical shutter button and dial controls for more comfortable portrait shooting. The handgrip will also hold a second battery, extending the battery life and power of your camera.

As of June 15, 2023, the camera is also available in silver:
