The brand new redesigned sensor pairs perfectly with Blackmagic RAW, further enhancing the 12K opportunities, allowing for 12-bit, 80MP images, up to 60 frames. The camera’s brand new Super 35 sensor has 14 stops of dynamic range, a native resolution of 12,288 x 6480 (80MP per frame), and a native ISO of 800. The sensor collects incredible amounts of color data, and the Blackmagic Generation 5 Color Science includes a new film curve to properly apply it.
The Blackmagic URSA Mini Pro 12K allows shooters to have oversampling from 12K, producing even more impressive 8K and 4K footage — shooting 60 fps in 12K, 110 fps at 8K and 220 fps at 4K Super 16 — with improved color and resolution. Blackmagic notes that the camera is ideal for green screen and VFX work.
The Blackmagic RAW format allows for editing directly on your computer, and a built-in SuperSpeed USB-C is letting users record to external disks. The camera comes loaded with dual card slots, which allow for simultaneous recording to two CFast or UHS-II cards.
A built-in interchangeable lens mount — for PL, EF, and F mount lenses — allows professional lenses to be added into your workflow.
The third-generation model is truly the world’s most advanced 12K digital film camera.
Alongside the Blackmagic URSA Mini Pro 12K, Blackmagic Design has also unveiled two new monitors: the Blackmagic Design 5″ 3G Video Assist () and the Blackmagic Design 7″ 3G Video Assist (). Both of the monitors have built-in scopes, 3G-SDI and HDMI for all SD and HD formats, and enhanced batteries. The monitors include analog inputs for audio, plus SD card slots (one for the 5″, two for the 7″), and an intuitive modern design that allows for easy control.
That’s not all. Blackmagic has also unveiled its new UltraStudio Monitor 3G () and UltraStudio Recorder 3G (), with 3G-SDI and HDMI connectivity, and supporting Thunderbolt 3 technology.
