Capture all the action shots:

The Osmo Action’s features were designed for on-the-go shots and movement, whether that be snowboarders coming down the slopes, or a vlogger capturing their travels. The camera is capable of 4K HDR video recording with a dynamic range of three exposure values, so details in the dark and the light areas are retained for a clean, definitive image. The HDR recording feature is noticeable when shooting in high-contrast settings like snow white mountains and sharp blue lakes.

To further improve action shots, the Osmo Action comes with RockSteady image stabilization to keep things smooth and steady even in fast motion scenarios — water skiing, snowboarding, running, biking, etc. RockSteady is functional up to 4K/60p, but is not available in 4K HDR recording.

Beyond HDR recording and image stabilization, the Osmo Action adds several shooting modes to fit the situation including Timed Photo, Timelapse, Hyperlapse, and Slow-Motion (120fps at 1080p and 240fps at 720p). The Timed Photo mode takes several RAW photos that users can stitch together in post-production for a creative timelapse. Users have the versatility to record a timelapse of the desert sunset, and film skateboarding tricks in slow motion with the same camera. The Osmo Action also has a 120 second-long exposure option, the slowest of all speed cameras on the market, to perfectly capture the night sky or for light painting.

The traveler’s build:

The shooting quality and modes of the Osmo Action are impressive, but so is the construction of the whole unit. The Osmo Action is created with a 2.25-inch HD touch screen on the back and a 1.4-inch HD screen on the front — the vlogger and selfie-enthusiast’s dream. The camera can be mounted on selfie-sticks, surfboards, helmets, bikes, etc., and still be easily framed.

To quickly switch between screens, you simply double tap the back screen with two fingers or press the QS button. The Osmo Action’s QS button can also be used to swiftly switch between shooting modes or a user-designed custom mode.

To round it all out, the Osmo Action comes dustproof, waterproof down to 11 meters, and can operate in temperatures between 14 to 104-degrees Fahrenheit. So go ahead and trek those glaciers or ride in the desert, the Osmo Action can handle it.
