Canon EOS C400

Cine Gear Expo 2024 goers got to see the EOS C400, Canon’s latest jam-packed addition to their long line of cinema cameras. Its best features are its 6K full-frame BSI CMOS sensor, triple-base ISO, and internal recording in advanced formats. Those three alone mean more quality and less time in post-production. But, of course, Canon does not stop there.

This new cinema camera has built-in mechanical ND filters and a dual-pixel CMOS AF II system. Those two features help the cinematic camera reduce aberrations and boost the sharpness of the shot.

Wondering how it’ll fit into your kit? You’ll be relieved to know that you can purchase a PL-RF Mount Adapter if you ever need to, to ensure compatibility. Along with this camera, Canon also released a lens available for both the PL mount and RF mount. Here, we see Canon prioritizing compatibility and user-friendliness above all – a smart move!

Panasonic LUMIX GH7

Creators at the Cine Gear Expo this year were glad to witness the Panasonic LUMIX GH7 in person. It’s famous for its size and weight, basically being a small filmmaking kit that one can take anywhere!

However, it’s more than its body. Within the LUMIX GH7 are very sought-after features like 32-bit Float Recording and an improved Auto Focus system. With the new AF system, photographers and videographers can detect and focus on even the most complicated subjects.

Other than those features, the LUMIX GH7 also boasts about its ability to relieve users from using bulky recorders. This is because it can shoot ProRes RAW in-camera on the CFexpress card. There’s more to this camera than meets the eye, so make sure you read more about it

ARRI LogC3 Recording

To elevate one’s experience with the LUMIX GH7, ARRI has developed a DMW-SFU3A Software Upgrade Key (sold separately). It’s a tool users can use to enable color matching with ARRI digital cinema cameras. The option to equip Log recording allows one to access rich color information and a wider dynamic range. Exactly what cinema needs.

No need to worry about compatibility or any errors! The image processing of this Software Upgrade Key has been certified by ARRI for this function.

Godox ML100Bi Bi-color LED Video Light

Just like how Woody from Toy Story says, “You’ve got a friend in me!” — You’ve got a versatile lighting tool in the Godox ML100Bi Bi-color LED Light

Even though it’s pocket-sized, this little tool can help light up a room. The Godox ML100Bi Bi-color LED Video Light only weighs 487 grams and is compatible with G-mount accessories. This includes G-mount diffusers, softboxes, grids, and more.

When it comes to power, the ML100Bi LED light can be plugged into a direct current power supply, hooked up to V-mount 14.8V rechargeable batteries, or (in dire situations) gain power from a power bank via a USB-C cable.

Aputure Light Storm 600c Pro II 600W LED Light

Go beyond “exceptional” with Aputure’s new Light Storm 600c Pro II. Its range of 2,300K to 10,000K colors is enough to make a creator not need to bring more than one light to a shoot. Enjoy light as warm as a sunny day on one end and then a very cold blue on the other!

No need to bring or purchase a separate reflector either when it comes to this one. It comes equipped with a new hyperreflector, letting one achieve a higher level of brightness.

Filmmakers and photographers who are constantly on the go don’t have to worry too much about the LS 600c Pro II. It has an IP54 rating which certifies that it could care less about dust and water. With the LS 600c Pro II, your creativity knows no bounds.

Profoto’s new L1600D mono-LED light pushes the boundaries of speed thanks to its remarkable power-to-weight ratio. That ratio is possible due to Profoto’s latest technology named “HydroCTech” – and they’re just waiting for the patent to be finalized.

This mono-LED light makes such a difference on set. It takes efficiency to a higher level. 97% of the electricity it garners is brought to output, making it 20% more efficient than its competitors. Additionally, this light comes with dual mounting choices for both the Profoto Mount and Bowens Mount.
