What’s New About the PowerShot V10?

The PowerShot V10 seems like a totally new direction for Canon. This can not only be a competitor against smartphones, but also perhaps for action cameras. This is a highly packable vlogging camera with high quality stereo recording. It has a built-in stand with 30 degrees of motion, allowing the user to lean it back to see their face or forward to showcase what they are working on.

It has a 1” CMOS sensor, like other cameras in the PowerShot G series, which works well in low light conditions. The sensor uses a 19mm (35mm equivalent) lens, which is wide enough to vlog and ensure everyone involved can fit into the frame. This camera is perfect for social media. Upon turning the camera to shoot vertically, the camera will automatically change its aspect ratio to vertical.

The PowerShot V10 has 14 color filters built-in so you can adapt to different scenes or simply add a color effect to your shots without the need for external filters. You can also utilize the Canon Camera Connect app via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi to transfer images and videos, as well as control the camera remotely. Lastly, the camera has HDMI ports, allowing you to directly share your imagery on larger screens.

Who Should Buy the PowerShot V10?

Though this camera can be used by any and all visual creators, the PowerShot V10 is designed for on-the-go vloggers, social media influencers, and perhaps beginner video and photo creators who want a simple-to-use point-and-shoot that can record up to 4k.

Though phone cameras are highly capable these days, they don’t provide the depth and sharpness that cameras can for the user. Using a true camera also offers versatility and the ability to input specific settings and shooting modes. Not to mention, this camera is actually smaller than the iPhone 14.

The webcam abilities and microphone input also make it a great option for Youtube streamers. You can use the Canon Camera Connect app to livestream and control the camera remotely. Use the built-in stand to get the perfect frame while streaming.

It has built-in image stabilization and DIGIC 4+ Image Processor, creating sharp and detailed images on every capture. The G5 X Mark II features a 1.0 inch 20.1 Megapixel stacked CMOS sensor, which helps achieve high image quality and fast performance at the same time. The 5x Optical Zoom lens has optical image stabilization providing sharpness when using the wider focal lengths.
