Creating exceptional images:
The Canon XF705 combines a 1.0-inch CMOS sensor and dual DIGIC DVS image processors to provide enhanced 4K UHD image quality. The larger CMOS sensor is so perceptive that it is able to reduce noise in low-light situations and grants a shallower depth of field with wide apertures. This type of depth and noise control makes the XF705 ideal for professional settings like sports and documentaries.
The image quality is further improved with an 15x Optical 4K video lens, 5-axis Optical Image Stabilization System and Dual Pixel CMOS AF. Using Genuine Canon technology, the lens can shoot 4K UHD in a optical zoom focal length range of 25.5mm to 382.5mm range (that’s a 35mm film equivalent) and full HD in an advanced zoom focal length of 25.5mm to 765mm. On top of that, the 5-axis stabilization has three modes — Standard, Dynamic, and Powered — that allow for stable shooting in a range of situations from walking to wide focal lengths. Lastly, Dual Pixel CMOS AF allows for quick and precise focusing.

4K UHD recording quality:
Thanks to the hefty 1.0-inch CMOS sensor above, the Canon XF705 can record in 4K UHD 4:2:2 10-bit at 60 frames per second. If users want to play around with slow motion effects, the XF705 has the ability to shoot at 120fps in Full HD to avoid a choppy recording.
Handling 4K UHD can be difficult due to the size of the files, but the XF705 yields an HDMI 2.0 output to streamline the exporting of 4K UHD 60p footage. Furthermore, this is the first Canon to adopt the H.265/HEVC codec for easier handling of 4K files.

Vibrant color control:
The XF705 brings the option of HDR recording in Hyper Log Gamma (HLG) and Perceptual Quantization (PQ) formats, which give the shooter a greater range of colors from black to pure white. HDR quality, paired with Canon Log 3 Look-Up-Table (LUT) in post-production, lends the user creative control over crisp, ranging colors in different lighting settings.
All of this is packed into a small, ergonomic design with a 4.0-inch rotating touch-screen that is perfect for professional, on-the-go shooting.
The XF705 will be available for preorder now for at Adorama.com.
