In February, the imaging community welcomes the compact-yet-powerful Canon R50 which houses a 24MP APS-C imaging pipeline enabling refined 4K footage and 15 fps high-speed capture. On the same day, Canon also announced the EOS R8, which uses a 24.2MP full-frame CMOS sensor and DIGIC X processor to produce high-resolution images, reaching an extreme ISO of 204,800. Blackmagic Design did not disappoint with its announcement of the Studio Camera 6K Pro to provide outstanding image quality and control in live production with a Super 35 sensor and EF lens mount. We were introduced to the V-Raptor in 2021, but RED expanded on this by announcing a Super 35 sensor version of the camera this year.
