Finding a quality pair of earbuds or headphones can be a daunting task. After all, there are endless options to choose from. Audiophiles want to hear every detail in their music whether they’re on the train, a plane, an adventure, or even in the gym. One of the leading audio brands that aimed to conquer this target demographic was Beats with the new Beats Studio Buds.
Beats Studio Buds Features:
- Dual beam microphones for noise-free calls
- Two listening modes: Active Noise Cancelling and Transparency Mode
- Powerful sound via a 8.2mm dual-element driver
- Bluetooth 5.2 for extended range and fewer dropouts
- FindMy support in iOS and Find My Device on Android
- Up to 8 hours of listening time
- IPX4 rated sweat and water resistant
- One touch pairing and controls
- USB C carry case charging port
The new Studio Buds have the opportunity to attract a wide audience, perhaps even nabbing some of the Airpods fans since these come in around $100 cheaper and look considerably more comfortable. The design is both eye-pleasing and stemless. They look discreet in the ear and are lightweight at only 5 grams. Sadly, any type of bass boost option seems to be missing from this new model.
Noise Cancelling Features
However, Beats did finally decide to include Active Noise Cancellation along with some other new features. Active Noise Cancelling helps block out external sounds for quieter listening. If you switch to Transparency mode, it uses the external-facing microphones to mix the sounds around you for a more natural listening experience. During phone calls, the dual-beamforming microphones target your voice and filter out wind and environmental noise for increased clarity in your conversations.
Listening, Charging, and Connectivity
These earbuds are capable of running for up to 8 hours of listening time with two additional charges provided by a pocket-sized charging case, essentially giving you up to 24 hours of total playback. One thing the Studio Buds don’t have is wireless charging. That could be a pain if you already charge your phone wirelessly. Otherwise, the standard USB-C charging works just fine. Most people already have that style charger lying around the house these days.
Since there’s no Apple silicon here, that means the earbuds are compatible with both iOS and Android devices. You’ll be able to easily connect to your devices with simple, one-touch pairing via next gen bluetooth. To enjoy a hands-free experience with Apple, just use Siri. If you’re using Android, download the Beats app to unlock additional features.
If you’re a fan of Beats or looking for powerful and balanced sound in a compact design, then these should do the trick. Beats Studio Buds are currently available to order for approximately $149.99 in three classic Beats colors: black, white and red.
