Aputure is unveiling a variety of innovative LED video lights and panels to help creators and filmmakers capture perfectly illuminated content that brings video content to life. The new products — the Amaran COB 60d and COB 60x video lights, and P60x and P60c LED panels — pack power and precision into their portable bodies. These light sources offer everything from high-intensity lighting output to intuitive color-temperature adjustments. There are also add-on accessories like color-gel presets, an app for remote controlling, or compatibility with Aputure’s wide assortment of modifiers.
If you’re a filmmaker or creator in the market for a new light source, here’s everything we know about the new Amaran LED video lights and panels. All are available for preorder today.
Amaran COB 60d: A Daylight LED Video Light
With the ultra-portable Amaran COB 60d daylight LED video light, creators can capture footage with a naturally illuminated aesthetic. This is great for indie films, travel videos, and everything in between. At 1.49 pounds and 4x4x4 inches, the Amaran COB 60d is ideal for on-the-go creators. Like all Aputure products, this tiny light is astonishingly mighty, starting with its ability to produce 45,100 lux at up to one meter.
With a full-sized Bowens Mount, the Amaran COB 60d works across Aputure’s modifier range. Use it with the Aputure Light Dome Mini II or the Aputure Lantern. For even more versatile functionality, this light features an LCD screen and control knob on its side with light adjustments in one-percent increments. The integrated Sidus Mesh technology also enables remote access via the Sidus Link App.
The Amaran COB 60d is available for preorder today starting at $169.00.
Amaran COB 60x: A Bi-Color LED Video Light
The impressively compact Amaron COB 60x is a bi-color LED video light that promises serious power — without the bulk. It boasts a 65W bi-color output in a lightweight 1.49-pound body that measures out to a mere 4x4x4 inches. Its powerhouse of an LED reaches 37,775 lux at one meter. It has a full-size Bowens mount that works with Aputure’s many modifiers, from the Light Dome SE to the Aputure Lantern.
The Amaran COB 60x comes with an easy-to-use LCD screen for seamless controlling. It also has a control nob that adjusts the light in one-percent increments. For even easier controls, once again try the Sidus Link App, which pairs with the COB 60x via Sidus Mesh for remote adjustments. This includes the COB 60x’s nine lighting effects, such as paparazzi or lightning.
The Amaran COB 60x is available for preorder today for $199.00.
Amaran P60x: An Expanded Bi-Color LED Panel
The Amaran P60x expanded bi-color LED panel is available on its own, or via a three-light kit designed to fill a larger space or for use in a three-point lighting setup. With an optical design, this LED panel creates high-intensity light output at 5,070+ lux at one meter. Also, it creates color temperatures between 3,200K and 6,500K—easily adjusted via the Sidus Link App.
Use the included AC power supply or Sony NP-F style batteries to operate this portable and travel-friendly panel. The Amaran P60x also comes with a collapsible soft box for even more lighting functionality. It also has a 45-degree light-control grid for the soft box to limit spill light.
The Amaran P60x is available for preorder starting at $249.00. The Amaran P60x 3-Light Kit is also available for preorder for $719.00.
Amaran P60c: An RGBWW Full-Color LED Panel
Rounding out the list of new Aputure lights is the Amaran P60c. This is an RGBWW full-color LED panel created to give content creators, videographers, and indie filmmakers full control over their scenes. The P60c generates high-intensity light — think 5,900+ lux at one meter — with a versatile color-temperature range of 2,500K to 7,500K. It also features ten built-in lighting effects and 46 color-gel presets to fully capture the film’s desired look and feel.
Alternate between color temperatures and presets using the Sidus Link App, which promises seamless remote controlling on set. The app also offers tools like color picker and source match for further lighting and color exactness.
Like the Amaran P60x, the P60c works with an AC Power Supply or two Sony NP-F-style batteries. The LED panel comes with an included collapsible soft box. It’s also available as a three-light kit for illuminating large spaces, or for creating a three-point lighting setup.
The Amaran P60c is available for preorder for $349.00. The Amaran P60c 3-Light Kit is also available for preorder for $990.00.
