The a7 III boasts a newly developed back-illuminated image sensor and an evolved image processing system, meeting a variety of shooting needs with high-quality imaging capabilities typically expected only from a full-frame camera. The 24.2-megapixel Exmor R CMOS sensor, now featuring a back-illuminated structure, is paired with the latest BIONZ X image processing engine and front-end LSI. This combination achieves a data readout speed that is two times faster and a data processing capability that is 1.8 times higher.The 35-mm full-frame CMOS image sensor with back-illuminated structure enhances light collection efficiency, expands circuitry scale, and, with the help of a copper wiring layer, outputs data at very high speed, while minimizing noise to reveal fine details in every picture. The camera's standard ISO range is extended to ISO 100-51200 (expandable to ISO 50-2048007 for stills), while Detail Reproduction and Area-specific Noise Reduction technologies maintain image details and cut noise. The a7 III also features a dynamic range of up to approx. 15 stops at low-sensitivity settings, thanks to a revamped CMOS sensor and image processor that provide for smooth gradation from shadow to highlight. This gives you greater freedom of creative imaging. The camera's high-precision stabilization uses a stabilization unit, gyro sensors, and algorithms to achieve a 5.0-step shutter speed advantage in a system that compensates for five types of camera shake with a wide range of lenses and delivers excellent performance. The a7 III is also equipped with 4D FOCUS, which improves AF performance using the same AF advancements as in the a9 and applying it optimally. This camera features 693 phase-detection AF points covering approx. 93% of the image area, plus 425 densely positioned contrast-detection AF points to improve focus. In terms of video capabilities, the a7 III can record stunning 4K movies through 2.4-times higher oversampling and features a new HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma) picture profile, supporting instant HDR workflow. Full-pixel readout without binning in 35-mm full-frame mode makes it possible to condense approx. 2.4 times the data required for 4K movies (QFHD: 3840 x 2160), minimizing moir and jaggies. The a7 III offers enhanced operability with fast control during shooting, dazzlingly clear views through the Tru-Finder, versatile connectivity, and extended shooting endurance from various power sources, plus high durability and resistance to wet or dusty conditions. The a7 III can use a NP-FZ100 battery with approx. 2.2 times as much capacity as a NP-FW50 battery, allowing you to shoot up to approximately 710 photos with one full charge. With two media slots, including one that's UHS-II-compatible for fast data writing, the a7 III can simultaneously or relay record, separate RAW/JPEG data and stills/movies, and copy data between cards. The camera also supports 14-bit RAW output even during silent shooting/continuous shooting. Im no really satisfied with the screen display. The view on the screen is really bad compare to my prevoius a7ii. The display om screen not same as the the evf and the output. Its hard for me to view better exposure when not looking to the evf. Screen display is really bad

This body has held up for years.  I've been using it since the body launched without a hiccup.  Love the images it can take, and any issues I've had with Sony color science I've been able to fix using the robust picture profiles to make preview images closer to the outcome of my edits. I previously owned a Canon, but since purchasing this Sony A7III, I've been using it for all occasions and events. It's become my go-to for capturing every moment.

Definitely the upgrade I needed from my last camera. I love the quick button selection to fit your own custom style of shooting. Still learning the camera but I'm definitely enjoying it.

This camera is insane! After lots of research, I decided on this camera for its auto-focus and low light abilities. I knew it would be a noticable improvement from my DSLR but I didn't expect being so blown away. Some reviews I have read says that the user interface is a bit hard to navigate but I have found it to be fairly easy to learn.

Beyond Expectation

Wanted to move from a Fuji X-T2 to a full frame.  No video. Wanted to keep to a tilt screen, not a floppy, again, no video. 24MB was plenty as I only print up to A3+. The basic model (A7iii) fit the bill.
