Adorama ALC

It’s been an exciting year at Adorama! Not only did 2016 include the launch of an all-new Adorama Learning Center in May, but this year also saw ALC working with a new team of talented writers and contributors – all experts in their industries. ALC photographers, filmmakers, and audio experts were on the frontline of every major story and industry development; from Richard Corman and his long-lost Polaroids of Madonna and iconic images of Muhammad Ali, to C.S. Muncy’s coverage of election night, we bring you some of our favorite highlights of 2016!

Election Night with C.S. Muncy

Photographer C.S. Muncy was testing a new Nikon lens in one of the most real, hands-on field tests for a photojournalist – this year’s controversial and tumultuous election night.  His photos wowed our readers and editors, and documented a historical moment in 2016. Read it here.

Adventures in Photography with Chris McLennan

After getting a chance to travel to New Zealand and see Chris McLennan in action first-hand, the editors at ALC knew our readers would love to join the adventure and travel photographer on all of his amazing photo missions – even if it’s just vicariously by reading his contributions to ALC! His breathtaking images of people, nature and wildlife taken all over the world are must see. Read it here.

Richard Cormon: On Photographing Muhammad Ali and Other Legends

Well, it’s the end of the 2016 and Madonna is STILL making headlines. Photographer Richard Cormon gave Adorama TV and Adorama Learning Center exclusive behind the scenes stories of what it was like to photograph a young Madonna in New York City before she was famous. Cormon also had the amazing fortune to have met and worked with iconic and beloved Muhammad Ali before he died in June of this year. Read it here.

Top Photographer: How We Learned The Hard Way to Always Shoot in Raw

In 2016, Ado TV launched Adorama’s first reality web-series, Top Photographer with Nigel Barker. We all watched in horror as Roxy had an exasperating realization that she had made the ultimate rookie mistake during one of the show’s pivotal competitions. In her post-shoot edit session, Roxy revealed that every single image she captured that morning was in (gasp!) JPEG. Read it here.

With access to some of the most charismatic public figures, PF Bentley revealed to ALC what it is about having a camera that allows a photographer to see deeper into the lives of the people he photographs. This year, ALC scored lots of exclusive interviews with some of the biggest names in music ( i.e., O.A.R and The Chainsmokers) but one of our favorites of 2016 was definitely Lindsey Stirling.  The musical prodigy and spunky artist has stolen the hearts of her fans, and she was kind enough to sit down with us for a one-on-one interview. Read it here.
