The Case Relay Camera Power System is an innovative tool that helps provide infinite power to your camera, whether with a more powerful mobile battery pack or via connection to a wall outlet. This allows for uninterrupted hours of shooting and video recording, making it an integral part of any professional photographer’s or videographer’s arsenal.

Case Relay Camera Power System

Today, more and more camera users are making the switch from rechargeable Lithium-Ion batteries to the Case Relay CPS, thanks to its ability to provide more power from non-proprietary battery sources via USB.

It doesn’t require any difficult manuals or calibrations, either. All you need is a couple of important components and optional accessories that make up the entire Case Relay Camera Power System to enjoy the

For infinite camera power supply, the Case Relay Camera Power System involves the use of up to eight accessories or components:

  • Relay Camera Coupler
  • Case Relay Camera Power System
  • Rock Solid External Battery Pack 10,000mAh
  • Relay USB Wall Power Adapter

Optional:

  • Relay Adapter Kit
  • Case Relay DC Extension Cable
  • Strapmoore
  • Strapmoore Extender

The Relay Camera Coupler () is built in the form of a camera battery pack but with a cord attached to it for power input. Because it is not universal, it is usually sold separately from $29.99 to $34.99, depending on the camera that you’ll need it for. Manufacturer camera battery couplers would also need the optional Relay Adapter Kit.

The coupler will then have to be connected to the Case Relay Camera Power System ($99.99). The CPS itself looks like a regular black battery charger with three lights: green for full charge, yellow for 30 to 70% charge, and red for 30% power and below. It also has a cord that will have to be connected to your external battery pack.

If you need to extend the distance between the Relay and the battery pack or AC power supply (for situations where the camera is mounted up high or you want to avoid touching the tripod, etc.), a Case Relay DC Extension Cable () can add two meters between the Camera and Relay.

Your CPS is compatible with any 5V battery pack, but is best suited for the recommended Rock Solid External Battery Pack with 10,000mAh power (). Alternatively, you can also choose to purchase the Relay USB Wall Power Adapter () to connect your CPS to a more continuous power source without the need for a power bank.

Tether Tools’ Strapmoore () is another optional accessory that is used for conveniently bunching the Case Relay CPS and the external battery pack together and attaching them onto your tripod, monopod, leg, chair, table, pole, and many others. For extra grip, the Strapmoore Extender () keeps your items in place without the risk of them sliding or slipping out.

How it Works

Normally, photographers and videographers have to end their videos, time lapse, or studio session when their battery dies, as this requires them to replace it with a charged one before continuing. It doesn’t take long, but it can definitely disrupt your momentum and make you miss precious shots or moments.

Fortunately, for a small investment, the Case Relay Camera System helps eliminate the need to stop operations just because there is a need to supply the camera with more power.

The Case Relay Camera Power System basically replaces your regular camera battery with a system that continuously receives power from an external source. Simply insert your Relay Camera Coupler into your camera’s battery port and attach its cord to the Case Relay CPS. Finally, connect the Case Relay CPS cord to any standard 5V 2.1A portable USB external battery pack (even those that you use for charging your tablets or smartphones) or a wall outlet.

The CPS itself has an internal UPS battery with 1200 mAh of power, so your camera doesn’t die as soon as you remove the connected external battery pack or detach it from the wall outlet. Instead, it keeps your camera powered while you replace your external power source, so you never have to interrupt your shooting.

It works for most Canon and Nikon cameras, Fuji mirrorless cameras, and other models from Sony, Olympus, and Panasonic. It also supports any device that takes the Sony NPF-L series batteries. For the full list of compatible cameras, check tethertools.com/relay.

Why you need the Camera Relay CPS

The best thing about the CPS is that it solves every shooter’s battery problem, especially during demanding applications such as time-consuming and normally battery-draining video productions, time-lapse photography, LiveView shooting, and even lengthy shooting sessions in the studio.

It’s for everyone

The Case Relay Camera Power System is for both amateurs and professionals. While professionals would definitely benefit more from this tool given their increased and more frequent need for a much longer camera life, even those who use their cameras for personal photo and video needs would find it extremely useful especially when continuously recording lengthy home videos, documenting family events, or even taking unlimited long exposure shots of fireworks on New Year’s Eve.

It ultimately becomes the more convenient choice than bringing extra batteries and changing them more often than you would on the Case Relay CPS.

It’s cost-effective and convenient

Some might prefer to invest on multiple camera batteries instead of investing in the Case Relay CPS, and here’s why that’s not always the smarter choice. One power bank supplying the Case Relay with 10,000 mAh of power easily delivers 5.8x the power of a regular Nikon EN-EL15 Li-ion camera battery.

And even if you had no qualms about lugging around up to 8 Li-ion batteries (and changing batteries up to seven times) instead of just two thin 10,000 mAh power banks, there’s one thing that only the Case Relay CPS would be able to offer—unlimited power through the USB wall outlet.

It’s fit for the pros

As you can imagine, professionals who use their cameras for hours on end do not have the option of limiting themselves to using regular camera batteries. Given the choice to purchase anything that would really benefit their craft and provide them with extra professionalism and increased productivity, the Case Relay CPS is clearly the better fit for the demands of their work.

It saves you precious shots

While some go for the Case Relay CPS for its convenience, many make the switch because capturing priceless moments is their first priority. This is particularly important for event coverage, such as at weddings, where shooters don’t always have the time to worry about draining and changing batteries every two hours or less.

Nothing distracts a photographer’s momentum like having to worry about his or her gear lasting the entire session. Thankfully, the Case Relay CPS gives you that much needed peace of mind when shooting, so you only have to worry about immortalizing those moments.
