Polk Audio has always made some of the best speakers at the best price. Furthermore, they continue to improve upon a single product line rather than discarding it after just one generation. So, it comes as no surprise that they continue to enhance their Signa line of soundbars with the introduction of the new Signa S4 Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer. Polk, once again, shows that it can produce high-quality sound products while retaining their clear vision of excellence.

The speakers built into TVs today are generally better than they were a few years ago. However, due to the shallow depth and limited space of flat screens, the technology shows its limitations on the sound it can produce. Here is where a soundbar like the Signa S4 can help. You’ll be able to enjoy crisp sound and sufficient bass, which will make your living room feel like it’s your own personal movie theater. Let’s take a closer look at Polk’s new soundbar.

Dolby Atmos Certified

Watch the latest blockbuster films and TV shows and listen to high-quality music in amazing 3D sound thanks to Dolby Atmos (3.1.2 certified)* and the Signa S4 Soundbar. Compared to the S3, it comes with a seven-driver array and a dedicated full-range center channel plus a 5.9″ subwoofer. The end result is a realistic Atmos experience with a huge soundstage and just the right amount of bass. You can also listen to non-Atmos content in a virtual Atmos style.

In addition to Left and Right Tweeters (1″), Racetrack Mid Drivers (4.7″ x 1.6″) and a 1″ Center, the left and right elevation speakers (2.6″) utilize Atmos’ height channels for an immersive 3D sound over your head due to the up-firing speakers that help to fill any room.

*Requires HDMI eARC connection. With just ARC, you won’t get a true Atmost signal but it should still sound fantastic.

Customizable Sound For Clear Dialogue

Polk’s patented VoiceAdjust technology works in conjunction with Signa S4’s dedicated center channel for clear, easy-to-understand dialogue. This is a handy feature for viewers who have a hard time understanding speech on many shows today. Together with the S4’s center channel, you can customize voice settings while the Bass Adjust technology lets you control both the soundbar and subwoofer’s low frequencies to dial in the perfect amount of bass response from both sources. Plus, there are one-button presets for cinema and music, as well as Night Mode, so you won’t wake family members or neighbors when you’re consuming content late at night.

The Setup And Connection

As with any typical soundbar, it only requires a single connection via an included HDMI or optical cable, ensuring the ultimate listening experience on almost any TV — even current 8K models. Connect your soundbar to your TV, plug in both the bar and the subwoofer, insert the included AAA battery into your remote, and power both up. The subwoofer should automatically connect to the bar, and the entire system should be ready for playback within a few moments. In total, it should take less than five minutes to set up the entire system. You just need to unbox, connect, and you’re off to the races with an upgraded home theater system

In addition to working with most TV remotes out of the box, the Signa S4 pairs quickly with your mobile devices via Bluetooth so you can stream your favorite music. It has an integrated HDMI (eARC) output that can transmit eight channels of uncompressed audio for the best listening experience. Enjoy playback from any audio source using (1) optical, (1) analog 3.5mm, or (2) Bluetooth, and USB-A (for firmware updates).

The low-profile Signa S4 Soundbar and Wireless Subwoofer offers a room-filling theater-like experience.
