Roland just released an intuitive video mixer that will up the production value of any livestream. The V-02HD MK II comes with two HDMI inputs, 10-channels of audio, and seamlessly streams to all the popular platforms. Users can also preview on an external monitor and access advanced audio and visual tools such as EQ, reverb, and compressor, as well as titles, transitions, and compositing, respectively.
The Roland V-02HD MK II video mixer is simple to set up and has intuitive controls suitable for beginners with little streaming or broadcast experience. To start, users only need to plug in a source via HDMI, connect the video mixer to their computer via USB-C, and choose a streaming software. Users need not worry about driver updates, adapters, or any other complicated additional software.
The new Roland video mixer comes with two HDMI inputs to connect cameras, tablets, or smartphones. Users can easily switch back and forth between the two sources with the large T-bar fader. The MK II also comes with 10-channels of mixable audio. Two 3.5mm audio inputs can support microphones or other audio sources such as mixers or smartphones. Shotgun or lavalier microphones that are connected to cameras in the HDMI inputs can also be mixed.
Once you have all your inputs squared away, the MK II works seamlessly with the popular streaming platforms. Users can quickly go live on Facebook, YouTube, Twitch, and Zoom by selecting the video mixer as the camera source. For broadcast professionals, the video mixer can be linked with OBS Studio, Streamlabs OBS, StreamYard, and Restream.
The Roland V-02HD MK II is laid out so beginners can easily use it, but it also provides access to more advanced tools for experienced creators and broadcasters. The MK II has an HDMI Preview Out that can connect to an external monitor or recorder. If connected to a monitor, the display provides more fine-tune controls for both audio, video, and accessories.
In terms of audio, the external interface lends more tools for professional mixing. Users can clean up sound with EQ, compressor, and reverb, or get creative with some voice altering effects. When it comes to video, users can use the external interface to add effects, transitions, titles, and composite multiple pictures. After a little work, your livestream could include picture-in-picture windows, wipe transitions, lower-third text, and two shots composited on a green screen. Also, the MK II comes with internal hardware that will process the additional effects, so your computer doesn’t become overloaded.
If you need to livestream a presentation or demonstration, the MK II is compatible with BOSS footswitches. With a quick step of the footswitch, users can switch between sources, incorporate transitions, or cut to different shots, all off screen.
The Roland V-02HD MK II Video Mixer is available for preorder for at Adorama.
