When Samsung unveiled its latest line of SUHD 4K TVs at the giant Consumer Electronics Show at the beginning of 2015 it was hailed as a major milestone that took current 4K UHD technology to a new level of imaging performance. Incorporating an SUHD picture quality re-mastering engine, this innovative new system delivers class-leading image quality along with unprecedented contrast, brightness, and color vibrancy. And combined with the curved screen concept pioneered by Samsung, the result is a more immersive “in depth” viewing experience, one that is vastly enhanced by new Smart TV functions powered by Tinzen, an open-source platform that provides viewers with seamless access to their favorite content across an extensive range of social media options.

About This Product

SUHD Features Peak Illuminator Pro, which has increased LED illumination behind the brightest regions of the picturefor colors that really pop.

Thanks to breakthrough nano-crystal color technology, the SUHD TVs brigher, more true-to-life pictures and wider ranges of color.

The 4K resolution of SUHD will allow viewers to experience stunning colors, deep contrast, and incredible brightness.

Nano-Crystal Color

At the heart of Samsung’s SUHD breakthrough is its eco-friendly nano-crystal technology that delivers groundbreaking advances in detail and color vibrancy. Basically the nano-crystal semiconductor built into all SUHD TVs transmits the various colors of light differentially depending on their size to produce an enhanced level of color purity and light transmission efficiency. This means that a wider range of more accurate colors can be displayed, providing viewers with 64 times more color expression than a conventional TV. The SUHD re-mastering engine then automatically analyzes the brightness levels of the images to minimize power consumption while optimizing the content levels. This process yields viewing images that are as much as 2.5 times brighter than traditional TVs and with two times as many color adjustment points for enhanced color display accuracy.

SUHD Technology

Samsung has also vigorously addressed the question of 4K SUHD content by partnering with 20th Century Fox to create 4K content optimized to meet premium quality SUHD standards. It has recently collaborated with the Fox Innovation Lab to re-master scenes from its blockbuster film, Exodus, specifically for Samsung SUHD TVs. The results were breathtaking and amazingly true to life. Samsung is also committed to finding new ways of using its energy efficient SIHD technology to enhance energy efficiency and system reliability.

With Precision Black, Samsung introduces improved black levels and contrast, while not compromising bright areas.

An equally important goal is expanding the future entertainment experience with a new interface for Samsung’s Smart Hub, which is more responsive and intuitive in allowing users to access the content they want. Its interface has been simplified to just one screen that displays the most recent content viewed as well as recommendations for related entertainment options. Using the Quick Connect feature, Samsung SUHD TVs automatically recognize Sansung smart phones once they’re paired using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology. Then consumers can share video content from their smart phone to their Smart TV at the press of a button. Other options available to Samsung SUHD TV users include being able to view UHD movies from Amazon, Comcast, DIRECTTV, and M-GO. Samsung has also introduced a new UHD movie download service using its existing UHD Video Pack in partnership with M-GO to offer even more high quality content going forward. Samsung Sports Live (which lets you watch live games while checking stats!) and Samsung’s Milk Video that allows consumers to discover, collect, and share the web’s best videos round out an impressive array of content access options.
