Molecular’s press release:
WATERTOWN, Mass.–Isobar interactive agency Molecular, Inc. announced today its collaboration with Nikon Inc. to create an innovative mobile app for the iPhone that provides people with quick, easy access to both educational and inspirational photo information right from their mobile device. The free app, called Nikon Learn & Explore, is now available.
Created for photo enthusiasts of all skill levels, the Learn & Explore app allows iPhone users to read and bookmark informative articles from the nikonusa.com website as well as articles from “Nikon World” magazine. iPhone users also get access to Nikon digital assets such as stunning images, video lectures1 and slideshows, and audio commentary. All of the content is managed through Nikon’s TeamSite Content Management System and synchronized with the devices regularly to keep the content fresh.
“Increasingly, people are using their iPhones to explore everything and anything they might need ‘in the moment’, from GPS directions to nearby restaurant recommendations,” said Bryant Shea, Molecular’s Director, Content Management and Mobile. “Recognizing that photography is a very ‘in-the-moment’ activity, the Learn & Explore app creates another opportunity for Nikon to engage with consumers, providing people with immediate access to Nikon’s education resources right in the palm of their hand, no matter where they are.”
“We are excited to introduce the Learn & Explore app to the iPhone community,” said Joe Ventura, Senior Manager of Corporate and Internet Communications at Nikon Inc. “Working with Molecular, we’ve created a mobile experience that allows us to provide our consumers with greater access to educational and editorial digital content; which ultimately supports our goal to let people explore photography on their own terms.”
Molecular was responsible for design, implementation and QA of the Learn & Explore app, as well as all modifications to the Content Management System. Molecular has been working with Nikon USA since 2007 and is the agency responsible for creating Nikon’s current website at www.nikonusa.com.
