The Players’ Tribune, a popular sports-centric website where popular, pro-athletes contribute articles, images and videos while providing “unique insight into the daily sports conversation,” recently sent NBA superstar Kevin Durant to provide photo coverage of Super Bowl 50. Durant returned with numerous imagery, some of which you can check out in the gallery below.

Durant quickly rose to be one of the most watched players in the NBA. He was a small forward for the Oklahoma City Thunder, a one-time MVP award winner, recipient of four NBA scoring titles, and an Olympic Gold Winner. You can now add “Press Photographer” to his resume.

In a previous essay written for the Tribune, Durant explained how he developed an interest in photography. It was thanks to a gift he received on his 27th birthday, “Growing up, I got cameras as gifts and I always did the same thing: take it out of the box, try it out for a couple days and then never use it again. But this time… I started taking it almost everywhere I went.” As for taking on the challenge shooting the Super Bowl with his Canon 7D, Durant had this to say, “I’ve been in some big games in my career, in big arenas that were loud and packed… That all felt small compared to this night… who wouldn’t want to be on the Super Bowl sidelines with a ‘job’ to take action shots of the game – the biggest game in the world?”
