Fujifilm Announces 2 New X Series Lenses: The XF 200mm F/2 and XF 8-16mm F/2.8

Fujifilm is adding to their X Series lineup with the addition of two brand new lenses, announced today. First up, is the new ultra-wide 8-16mm f/2.8 astrophotography and landscape lens. Secondly, the company has unveiled their 200mm f/2 telephoto prime lens, 

FUJINON XF8-16mmF2.8 R LM WR Ultra-Wide Angle Lens

With 20 elements in 13 groups (and four aspherical lens elements specifically made to combat distortion and aberration), the new XF8-16mmF2.8 R LM WR ultra-wide angle lens includes a field curvature correction element that works with the zoom, giving ultimate sharpness, similar to the previous ultra-wide angle lenses. 

The lens is dust-resistant and can weather temperatures as low as 14°F and -10°C. 

FUJINON  XF200mmF2 R LM OIS WR Telephoto Lens

Made with 19 elements in 14 groups, the new XF200mmF2 R LM OIS WR telephoto lens also has a 5-stop image stabilization corrects when faced with alternative shooting conditions, changing the image stabilization control to reach optimum levels. 

Coming in at , the lens is Fujifilm’s most intricate lens design yet, as well as its most expensive X Series addition. The lens contains a 300mm full-frame equivalent, and is made for low-light situations, such as sports, theater, adn even wildlife. 

Made with magnesium alloy, the lightweight lens is also dust-resistant and can withstand temperatures as low as 14°F and -10°C.
