Flashpoint offers a wide variety of lighting solutions including speedlights, portable bare bulb strobes, and powerful monolights. The Flashpoint Zoom II AA R2 TTL Speedlight is the follow-up to the popular on-camera Flashpoint Zoom TTL Speedlight that was initially introduced in 2015. It comes packed with all of the benefits of the R2 lighting family, and a whole host of new updates.

Key Features of the Flashpoint Zoom II Speedlight:

  • Powerful flash with GN 197ft / 60m @ISO 100 (200mm)
  • Uses 1.5V AA batteries
  • Full power recycle time is less than 2.6 seconds
  • Compatible with optional external Flashpoint Blast Power Pack (BP-960)
  • Remote TTL power control
  • Auto-sensing Canon, Nikon, Sony, Panasonic, Olympus, Fuji, or Pentax TTL radio and receiver modes
  • Quick manual to TTL and back button featuring TCM
  • Zooming 20-200mm head with utomatic or manual control
  • High Speed Sync for shutter speeds up to 1/8000th of a second
  • 330-degree rotation and 120-degree tilt head

Broader Bounce Angles

The Flashpoint Zoom II speedlight features an improved head that is capable of much broader angles for bounce flash. Also, it is able to tilt from -7° to 120°, and can rotate 330°. Having such a broad range of rotation allows for more creative and flexible compositions. Photographers can achieve any angle of bounce flash with an easy twist of the head.

TCM Instant Conversion

Having the ability to quickly set the perfect lighting ratio for a scene is a critical skill for many wedding and event photographers. The TCM (TTL Convert To Manual) functionality of the Flashpoint Zoom II speedlight allows photographers to quickly convert a TTL-metered flash output into a manual flash power output with a simple press of a button.

External Power Port for Upgraded Power and Recycle Times

The Flashpoint Zoom II speedlight features a built-in power port that can be used with an external power pack, such as the Flashpoint Blast Power Pack BP-960. The power pack can significantly increase the performance of the Flashpoint Zoom II speedlight. It takes the total number of full-power flashes from 330 to 1800. This reduces recycle times at full power from 2.6 seconds with AA batteries, down to one second with the Blast Power Pack.

R2 Wireless Transmitter and Receiver Functionality

Convenience and ease-of-use are two of the biggest benefits of the Flashpoint R2 wireless system. The Flashpoint Zoom II speedlight offers both of those benefits through its ability to function as a wireless transmitter and receiver. The Slave Mode of the Zoom II allows it to be controlled by other Flashpoint R2 lights and triggers, and allows the Zoom II to be added to five reception groups. It’s also capable of auto-sensing Canon, Nikon, Sony, Panasonic, Olympus, Fuji, or Pentax TTL radio receiver signals. When in Master Mode, the Zoom II can function as a transmitter controlling up to four different R2 wireless groups.

Quick-Release Lock

Just like the upgrades to the most recent members of the Flashpoint speedlight family, the Flashpoint Zoom II speedlight features a convenient quick-release locking mechanism. This allows for fast and easy attachment and removal from any camera hot-shoe.

Automatic and Manual Zoom

The automatic and manual zoom features of the Flashpoint Zoom II speedlight make it the perfect companion for a variety of lenses and lighting setups. Featuring a zoom range of 20-200mm, this speedlight distributes broad and even light with a wide range of focal lengths.

Various Professional Flash Modes for Any Lighting Scenario

The Flashpoint Zoom II speedlight offers professional features typically found in much bigger and more expensive lights. It has HSS (High Speed Sync) of up to 1/8000s, TTL with exposure compensation, manual, and multi-flash modes, and 22 steps of power output —ranging from 1/1 to 1/128 power — for maximum flexibility.

Benefits of the Flashpoint Zoom II Speedlight

Having access to a wide range of lighting options allows photographers to build a lighting kit that is capable of handling any lighting setup. Flashpoint lights are convenient, universally compatible across all camera brands, and easy to use. They operate using the robust and reliable R2 wireless flash system. They also offer industry standard features such as TTL, High Speed Sync, and TTL to manual conversion (TCM).

Flashpoint lights aren’t limited to being used with a single camera system either. The R2 wireless system can be used on all camera brands, simply by choosing the correct trigger. This gives you the opportunity to use your lighting kit on any camera without having to purchase an entirely new set of lights. By purchasing an extensible light like the Flashpoint Zoom II speedlight, photographers can take advantage of the amazing benefits of the Flashpoint Lighting family of light. Build a robust lighting kit that can function across any camera brand, and in any lighting scenario.
