Awkward Family Photos
Welcome to every professional portrait shooter’s nightmare, where your creative risks are mocked to death alongside the misguided poses and scenes captured by well-intentioned amateurs. Funny as all get-out, and reassuring for photographers who recognize their foibles in these shots: You are not alone.

Is Fair Use Really Fair?
Digital Photo Pro takes a close look at the Copyright Act of 1976, and whether the Fair Use doctrine really lives up to its name.

10 most incredible natural arches on Earth
Environmental Garffiti’s collection of arches is spectacular. But shouldn’t Double Arch in Utah count as two? (At least these arches aren’t golden.)

In the eyes of the law (street photography and police hassles in UK)
Police are giving photographers all around the U.K. a hard time—such a hard time that Martin Parr was recently quoted as saying street photography may no longer be legal in five years, so “get out and shoot while you can.” Photographers being stopped, searched, questioned, badgered and in some cases arrested by the police due to “terrorist fears,” and this is quashing creativity. The BBC covers this subject of concern. On the other hand, the Independent reports that the police have been instructed to stop using anti-terror laws against photographers, so maybe there’s hope after all.

Actors recreate iconic roles
ScreenCrave shows Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins re-create a scene from “Silence of the Lambs,” Governator Schwarzenegger posing (in suit and tie) by a motorcycle for “The Terminator” and Tom Cruise re-enacting “Minority Report”. It’s all part of Empire Magazine’s 20th anniversary edition.

Cool underwater shots of Californial Sea Lions
Annoying watermarks aside, these are nice mostly underwater images of California Sea Lions. Random? Why not?

365 Days at Strawberry Fields
With the tragic anniversary of John Lennon’s murder 29 years ago tomorrow, let this site take you down to Strawberry Fields, the landmark built in Lennon’s memory in New York’s Central Park. See what goes on there, get a feel for the vibe. Yeah, they’re just snapshots, but still. Imagine all the people.
