E3 2021 Day 3 Recap: Indie Games Showcase, Razer Blade 14, Intellivision Amico

After yesterday’s huge announcement, E3 took a step back on game reveals and focused more on the gaming community, indie games, and a new party game console. Verizon had the floor first and announced a $1 million commitment supporting female students at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), and a new partnership with Electronic Arts (EA), Dignitas, Riot Games and Team Liquid. Verizon showcased how it was committed in bringing equity to the gaming industry.

Intellivisionn Amico

Intellivision was next, and it revealed a brand-new party game console called Amico. With a big focus on family games for all ages, Amico can have up to eight players. The Amico controller has an integrated touchscreen, motion control, and a wireless charging station. This new console is all about innovation and affordability. At the end of the announcement, CEO Tommy Tallarico revealed the company is bringing a new Earthworm Jim game to the console.

Mythical Games also launched its early access for Blankos Block Party, and you can play now for free on PC. The game combines video games with NFT in game characters. Could this be the future of gaming?

Indie Games Showcase

The Indie Games Showcase had a ton of new reveals. Well highlight just a few below.

Firstly, LifeSlide from developer Dreamteck, launches August 6, 2021 for PC. Weave your way through gorgeous terrain as you control a paper airplane.

Additionally, Fallen Aces from developer New Blood Interactive has no release window. It’s a first-person, doom-like bloody crime noir.

Finally, Moo Lander, from developer The Sixth Hammer, launches Spring 2022. It’s a 2D platformer about cows, and ancient civilizations.

Razer Blade 14

Razer unveiled the Razer Blade 14, and it noted it’s the world’s most powerful 14-inch gaming laptop. With an AMD Ryzen 5900HX CPU, an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080, and aluminum chassis, this laptop is a beast. Better yet, you’ll be able to accelerate your games to max settings with the new Razer Blade 14.

In Capcom’s showcase, it announced Resident Evil Village DLC is in development. Additionally, it noted Monster Hunter will receive new updates and we saw new gameplay for The Great Ace Attorney Chronicle.

Final Thoughts

Yesterday’s show had wild reveals, but we came back to reality with a community driven show about equity, diversity, and inclusion. It was great to see a new family console from Intellivision, new Indie games, and my personal favorite the new Razer Blade 14!
