On September 10th and 11th,the best of Canon will come together in one immersive experience at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City. The incredible invite-only event happens once every five years and will take place over a sprawling 100,000 square feet. Attendees will have the chance to explore Canon technologies and innovation, all through live exhibits, displays, seminars and participatory demonstrations designed to address a wide range of industries –healthcare to manufacturing, business to motion pictures, and much more.

The interactive events include the chance to touch and try some of Canon’s newest products, and witness their more dynamic systems “addressing real world challenges.” Exhibition highlights include a live broadcast stadium experience, in which attendees can step into a replica of a major league baseball stadium—complete with a live player that they will be invited to photograph. There will be a variety of Canon camera bodies and lenses positioned throughout the stadium—photographers can station themselves in the dugout for up-close shots, or try the longer lenses positioned up on the mezzanine, 100 feet from home plate.

In another zone of the Canon Expo called “Imaging Journey,” Canon promises to “completely transform how you perceive the world around you.” Using photo-realistic images, attendees will be welcomed at a life-size recreation of an airport gate, be ushered to the top of a skyscraper, and then thrust into a nightlife scene in Manhattan.

In addition to these incredible immersive exhibits, there will be a variety of seminars featuring a diverse list of topics and speakers from various industries. While seminars will obviously include topics immediately relevant to photographers, videographers, filmmakers and creative professionals, the seminars also make room to talk about social and political issues relevant to all industry professionals. For example, Canon will describe how they are making technology more accessible to office workers, and former NY Governor David Paterson will lead a discussion about trends in the People with Disabilities (PwD) market. Additionally, filmmaker and author Sebastian Junger will lead a discussion with Director of Photography John Bailey about shooting and filming from combat zones. Another highlight includes a seminar on how Canon is enabling astronauts to share the wonders of space flight with IMAX audiences around the world.

These are just some of the topics and exhibits you’ll have a chance to learn more about at the Canon Expo 2015. The event will be sure to be a brilliant showcase of how Canon interacts with its customers and the world.
