Robert M : Can I Get UV rated ink for this printer? I Want to print on magnetic vinyl for car signs, will this printer work for that application?JAY M : No. Or well yes..but they won't last as long as Solvent based inks.MARK K : I would contact Canon directly as they manufacture the printer and the inkANDREW R : Unfortunately Canon only offers pigment/dye inks in one form for this printer. It's possible that there may be 3rd party suppliers that offer what you seek, however I'm not aware of them (use of ink cartridges from 3rd party vendors may void the warranty as well). This printer will print on a wide variety of media, however the materials need to be compatible with dye/pigment inks. From Canon: "Ideal for technical applications, Canon's 5-color dye/pigment Reactive Ink technology utilizes four highly colorfast dye inks for producing bold, expressive color, plus two channels of matte black ink for printing precise lines, smooth curves and small text on technical and office documents. These Canon inks provide superior adhesion to media, scratch and marker resistance and ensure minimal "bleeding" between colors and text. Even small text printed on colored backgrounds or on uncoated technical papers is crisp and legible."
